SPIE seeks an Audiovisual Manager with proven planning, coordination, implementation and documentation of audiovisual logistical arrangements for SPIE events assigned.
Description of Duties: The objectives of this position are to gather and track audiovisual requirements for events; communicate with presenters regarding audiovisual equipment needs and availability; make arrangements and train AV temp staffing; and communicate with the Audiovisual contracted supplier as to specific equipment types and totals per event in a cost-effective manner to meet the objectives of the event as conveyed by the Event Manager and in concert with the Meeting Manager’s logistical concerns and objectives. Manage the audiovisual function onsite at an event, including operation of the Speaker Check-in Desk and help troubleshoot presenter laptop issues.
This position receives some specific direction from the Meeting Manager per each event as they work cooperatively to achieve financial and logistical objectives. General direction is received from the Meetings Dept. Manager.
Education and Experience: BA and 3 years in related audiovisual role required. Must possess supervisory experience, attention to detail, ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously, be a team player, and a self-starter. Proficiency in MS Office, specifically PowerPoint and Excel, a plus.
Compensation includes: Competitive wage, annual discretionary bonus, defined contribution retirement plan with additional company match and paid-time-off plan beginning at 31 days per year.
